A Father's Lament

It's been about 3 weeks since Allison's accident, and I've been through a roller coaster of emotions. I've had a number of, "Wow - I can't even begin to imagine what you're feeling like!" comments, so I've decided to finally write out my feelings. This is partly for those who are curious about it, but mostly because I need to shout all of this out before it drives me more crazy.

100 day challenge

I have been soooo busy lately that I haven't had time to really think about and create blogs. I know, I know, you've heard that one before... one of your "regular stops" becomes irregular, and you decide not to bother going to check out their site anymore because frankly, they suck at updating. Well, I hope you'll give my 100 days blog a chance, because I'm being changed by it from the inside out.

Is there anything I can do for you?

This week I was broken. What happened affected me so much I have avoided writing about it, though I knew I needed to.

While we were out geocaching on Sunday, Lisa and my email alerts went off at the same time. "Somebody must be copying both of us!" Lisa said. We were in the middle of a hunt, so we ignored it, expecting it to be another one of my dad's forwards or something else of little to no consequence (no offense, dad!)

oo oo ah ah no nigh nigh!

This week I've got a pretty funny experience to share with you. The past couple of weeks of blogs have been REALLY intense for me. From some of the AMAZINGLY AWESOME responses you all have written, I'm excited they meant something to you, too! If you haven't read the cool responses to the past 3 or 4 blogs, you should go back and have a look! Anyway - on to the fun!

I wish we knew his house number!

My new priorities began last week. If you didn't read about it, make sure you check out the "New priorities" blog some time. In that blog, I promised to give you any updates. Holy cow, do I have a boatload today! I must say, being employed by God and leaving my life in His hands has REALLY blown my mind this week. Those who don't believe in God will question everything from this point on, I know. If this is you, try to ignore my obvious bias and see what's happening in my world and my heart.

New priorities

This one is a bit personal, but I'm really super excited about it. July 20th is the day I change the way I see myself and my life. I'm reading a pretty amazing book called, "The Hole in Our Gospel" by Richard Stearns. The things I'm reading have helped me put into words and actions what I've been struggling with and feeling for the past few months.

How does Social Networking affect me?

After a 2 week hiatus I needed to finish up my Social Networking and the Seasons "blog series". This is the blog I've been looking forward to doing and have been building up to. I'm still excited, but the past 2 weeks have really added some new perspective and direction to my life, so this is the first of 2 blogs I'll be writing today. Though the second blog frankly makes this one a little anticlimactic (at least to me), it interestingly still lines up with where my heart is going and what I'm so excited about!

Social Networking Changes the Seasons

Where does Social Networking fit into our "seasons" of life? How do you close the chapter on one season, and then deal with that chapter reopening?

Friendships and Seasons

So I wasn't planning on blogging so soon, but I was tossing and turning half the night with this one rattling around in my head. I actually promised this blog to my good friend, Becky, 9 or 10 months ago, but never did it. As an EXTREME people person (to the point that it becomes detrimental, sometimes) I struggle with letting friendships go. I often care more about what others think of me than I care about my own well-being. Enter Joel Osteen.

BK's blog

So I'm going to give this whole blogging thing a shot again.

When I did it about a year ago, I had a number of people commenting on how much they liked my blogs and such. I plan on blogging at least every week. I try hard to make what I have to say worthwhile and not trite. The kinds of things I like to talk about in my blogs include (in order of preference):

1. God and church and that kind of stuff (I like to challenge myself and others, and I PARTICULARLY like challenging the religious status quo).
